Burbank,
CA - September 18th, 2006 - Doremi Cinema, LLC
is pleased to announce that Christie Digital
Systems, Inc. has ordered an additional 1000
Doremi DCP-2000 digital cinema JPEG2000 servers
in support of their needs for the Christie/AIX
plan. The order increases Christie's purchase
to approximately 2000 servers for the year 2006.
The order reinforces Doremi's leadership in
cinema server technology and adds to Doremi's
already sizeable share of the cinema server
market.
Doremi Cinema currently has over 900 installed
cinema servers worldwide. Doremi is scheduled
to have over 2,000 servers installed by year
end 2006, most of which will be installed by
Christie/AIX.
Doremi Cinema has greatly outpaced the competition
in server installations. Doremi was first on
the market with a JPEG2000 server that conforms
with the DCI Technical Specifications and continues
to add advanced features to keep it comfortably
ahead of the competition. Some of these features
included 3D playback, CineLink II strong link
encryption, and Thomson's NexGuard and Philips'
CineFence Forensic Watermarking.
Christie's order underscores the reliability
and consistency of the DCP-2000 server to provide
both the highest quality JPEG2000 images and
the highest levels of security sought by the
major studios to protect their content.
Jack Kline, president of Christie Digital Systems
USA Inc., commented on the order "With
our successful installation of approximately
800 Doremi servers already, it was a natural
choice for us to continue to work with Doremi
for this next order. They have a proven, reliable,
high quality solution that meets the demanding
needs of our digital cinema customers."
"Doremi's server is being utilized as
part of the Christie/AIX digital cinema system,
which is designed and is being implemented consistent
with the DCI Technical Specification. The Christie/AIX
system features Christie DLP Cinema projectors
and related hardware and software including
Access Integrated Technologies' (AccessIT) NASDAQ:AIXD)
unique Theatre Command Center operating system.
The system is being deployed by Christie/AIX,
a unit of AccessIT."
"Doremi's ability to respond quickly to
our commitment to the DCI Technical Specification
has enabled us already to provide some of the
more robust security elements the studios are
looking for today. Their engineering efforts,
which also continually improve the operating
performance of the server, and their commitment
to deliver at least 300 servers per month going
forward are enabling Christie/AIX to stay on
plan both to support our exhibitor customers'
expectations and our accelerating rollout schedule,"
stated Chuck Goldwater, President/COO of Christie/AIX.
Michael Archer, VP of Sales at Doremi, adds
"We are very pleased that Christie/AIX
has shown continued support of our DCP-2000
with this significant order. Doremi Cinema was
first to be recognized for supporting the DCI
Technical Specifications for JPEG2000 playback.
Today we are building on our industry leading
technology to further advance digital cinema
and ultimately the viewing experience of the
public."
Amsterdam,
The Netherlands - IBC 2006 - September 8th,
2006 - Doremi Cinema's industry leading DCP-2000
cinema server now supports MPEG2 MXF-Interop
film and pre-show content in addition to JPEG2000.
Thanks to the DCP-2000's mixed content playback,
digital cinema professionals are no longer locked
to just one standard. The DCP-2000 play list
can now include feature films and pre-show content
in both JPEG2000 and MPEG2 MXF-Interop formats.
The MPEG2 playback capability will be available
at no additional cost with all new DCP-2000
orders.
Doremi Cinema was first on the market with
a DCI compliant JPEG2000 cinema server. Today,
Doremi Cinema continues to add advanced features
to its server to keep it comfortably ahead of
the competition. Some of the recent upgrades
include CineLink II, Philips forensic watermarking,
Thomson's NexGuard watermarking, JPEG2000 in
3D and now MPEG2 MXF-Interop playback.
Doremi Cinema has also greatly out paced the
competition in server installations. Doremi
Cinema currently has over 800 installed cinema
servers worldwide. Its existing order log puts
it on schedule to reach 2,000 server installations
before the end of 2006.
August
3, 2006 - Sophia Antipolis, France - Doremi
Cinema, a division of Doremi Labs, Inc. has
completed an installation at the Paris, Champs
Elysees, headquarters of the French cinema and
movie company, Pathé Network. The work
at Pathé's Viewing Theatre adds Doremi
Cinema's DCP-2000 JPEG2000 digital cinema server
technology and projection to the existing 35mm
viewing facilities.
To provide viewing for both established 35mm
as well as the rapidly growing volume of digital
cinema material, the Christie CP2000 digital
projector is mounted on a hydraulic mechanism
to allow it to share space with the 35mm projector.
The DCP-2000 reflects the latest specification
of this popular model with DCI conforming JPEG
2000 image codec, encryption and forensic watermarking,
as well as 800GB of storage. This provides approximately
11 hours of storage at 2K resolution. The installation
also includes a Sony HDCAM SR VTR, indicating
the importance of top quality RGB HD material
as well as the ability to show other electronic
formats.
Patrick Zucchetta, Managing Director of Doremi
Technologies, Europe, comments, "Pathé
makes up half of the EuroPalaces Group, the
largest French network with over 1,000 operating
screens. Installation at the theatre headquarters
for approving new production rushes is a great
testament to the quality of our DCP-2000 Cinema
Player."
The Doremi Cinema DCP-2000 is the first commercially
available server capable of playing DCI-JPEG2000
digital movies at high bit rates, up to 250Mb/s,
to achieve high quality on the large screens.
Packaged in just 3RU it includes CineLister
software for easy movie clip and playlist administration
and features Cinelink II and forensic watermarking
making the DCP-2000 the most secure server on
the market.
Cinema
Expo 2006 - Amsterdam, The Netherlands - June
26th, 2006 - Two major Hollywood movie premieres
shown at the Cinema Expo trade show in Amsterdam
were played by Doremi Cinema's digital cinema
servers. The DCP-2000 server was independently
selected by two studios; Disney/Buena Vista
for 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'
and Sony Pictures for 'Monster House 3D'.
The premieres underscore the reliability and
consistency of the DCP-2000 server to provide
both the highest quality JPEG 2000 images and
the highest levels of security sought by the
major studios to protect their material.
The 3D playback of 'Monster House' was provided
by one DCP-2000 server connected to a single
projector. The server provides the full 3D effect
with great consistency and a minimum of set-up
and equipment.
Patrick Zucchetta, Managing Director of Doremi
Europe, looks back on recent progress. "Being
chosen to replay these premieres shows the confidence
the studios have in us. They want security as
well as quality and reliability. It was only
a year ago that we were the first to be recognized
for DCI-JPEG2000 compliant playback. Today we
are building on our leading technology and have
already gained major European sales with our
partners, as this continent starts to gear up
for digital cinema."

Burbank,
CA - March 22, 2006 - Doremi Cinema's DMS-2000
encoder features constant quality variable bit
rate encoding for a smaller digital movie file
size. The DMS-2000 encoder is installed at leading
post production facilities worldwide and has
been available since 2005.
Constant quality variable bit rate (VBR) encoding
produces the highest possible image quality
at file sizes significantly smaller than those
achieved with constant bit rate encoding (CBR).
A smaller digital movie file size provides for
reduced duplication time and distribution costs.
The DMS-2000's exclusive hardware accelerated
encoding provides up to real-time encoding of
digital movie files. It is currently the only
hardware accelerated DCI/JPEG2000 encoder on
the market. Competing software-only encoders
are typically slower and require complex multi-processor
workstations.
Doremi Cinema's VBR encoding technology is
used to master the majority of new DCI/JPEG2000
digital movie releases. Movies mastered with
the DMS-2000 encoder include Chicken Little,
The Chronicles of Narnia, Glory Road, Eight
Below, Aquamarine, Inside Man, Stay Alive, Ice
Age 2 and The Wild.
The DMS-2000 is a complete DCI-JPEG2000 authoring
system that supports bit rates up to 250 Mbits/sec.
It provides extensive encoding parameter controls.
The system features a hardware accelerated JPEG2000
compressor in a Linux package with internal
storage. The DMS-2000 is the first product to
combine all the tools for 2K image compression
processing in one package and is competitively
priced to encourage adoption. Doremi Cinema
was first on the market with DCI-JPEG2000 mastering
and continues to lead in market share and technical
enhancements to the product line.
Doremi Cinema is also a leading cinema server
manufacturer. Doremi's DCP-2000 cinema server
is the first commercially available server capable
of playing DCI-JPEG2000 digital movies. The
DCP-2000 now has an installed base of over 300
servers throughout the country with another
500 scheduled to be installed by the end of
June 2006.
